Ndaga Muntu Project

Ndaga Muntu is a biometric system that captures physical characteristics of individuals, currently their fingerprints and their facial features, to computationally identify them as unique individuals.

The Ndaga Muntu system also includes the Civil Register, a legacy system inherited from the URSB, which holds records on births, adoptions, and deaths.171 NIRA has also developed a Third-Party Interface that allows MDAs and private actors to directly access information in the NIR.

Approach

Officials of from NIRA Uganda in conjunction with UNAA and the Embassy of the republic of Uganda will be holding registration clinics in various Sates.

The officials will help in capturing community member’s bio metric information for further processing in Kampala.

The officials in NIRA will collaborate with the Uganda embassy in DC and community leaders to ensure safe delivery of the produced Ugandan National ID’s to the diaspora registered users
