Representative Mid-Atlantic Region II
Hanifa Nakiryowa is the Council Representative for UNAA Mid-Atlantic Region II. She brings to UNAA a wealth of experience as a mother, daughter and community leader. She also bring a passion for community service demonstrated through the different community leadership roles she has held over the years. She is an internationally known advocate for women’s and children’s rights and represents women’s voices on different platforms both locally and internationally. She is a philanthropist and a TEDx speaker and uses her experience to raise awareness and empower women who have experienced Intimate Partner Violence and Abuse.
She holds a master’s degree in International Development and Human Security studies from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, a master’s degree in Economics from the University of Nairobi, and is a certified teacher with a bachelor of science with education degree from Makerere University Kampala.
